Italy of Patents: Imagensys’ Presence Until March 2, 2025
On November 18, at Palazzo Piacentini in Rome, the exhibition “Italy of Patents: Successful Inventions and Innovations” opened, organized by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Italian Patent and Trademark Office.
The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Alberto Urso, and the Deputy Minister Valentino Valentini. Among the 100 selected case studies, Imagensys stands out, an innovative start-up born from patents by the CNR, which presented its flagship device: the Pocket Gamma Camera, a revolutionary portable gamma camera. This device is usable both in nuclear medicine for diagnosis and in radioguided surgery interventions, such as for sentinel lymph nodes and specific tumors.
Alessandro Soluri, a partner of Imagensys and inventor of the Pocket Gamma Camera, along with Roberto Massari, also attended the event. A sample of the device is on display, having been recognized as one of the most successful Italian inventions. This achievement highlights the commitment made by the start-up since its foundation in 2017.
The exhibition also includes historically significant inventions, such as Enrico Fermi’s patent for the use of radioisotopes in medicine, and represents an important opportunity to explore Italy’s innovative heritage. Open until March 2, 2025, the exhibition can be visited every weekend at Palazzo Piacentini, with prior booking on the official website of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MiMIT).
